The most meaningful gifts don’t sparkle under the tree — they shine in someone’s eyes when they realize they matter.

Every Christmas morning, men and women in Ten16’s programs wake up apart from their families. They choose treatment over being home for the holidays, knowing recovery must come first if they want more holidays with loved ones.
These are not easy moments. The pull to leave is strong. Feelings of guilt, shame, and loneliness rise to the surface. Some people imagine they can make things better by leaving treatment, buying the “perfect” present, and returning home. Others wrestle with despair so heavy it could drive them back to using instead of going to the toy store.
At Ten16, we walk beside them and help them stay focused on giving themselves the greatest gift of all: a new life in recovery.
We prepare a Christmas gift basket for every person in our residential and recovery housing programs to bring encouragement. Each basket contains a new hat, gloves, a scarf, personal care items, and a thermal travel mug, all donated by our Board. We carefully choose and wrap each item so that there is something special for everyone under the tree on Christmas morning. This is a reminder that their courage is recognized and their recovery matters.
This year, we aim to provide 35 gift baskets for our guests across our three facilities. With rising costs, each basket costs about $80. The total campaign goal is $2,800.
Thanks to generous friends of Ten16, we have a special opportunity:
  • An anonymous donor will match the first 12 baskets given, and
  • Several Board members have pledged to match the next ten baskets after that.
Your gift today doubles the hope and encouragement we can offer this Christmas.
Will you make a donation today to help us provide a Christmas gift basket for someone in recovery? Your support shows them they made the right choice and that we believe in their recovery. Donations can be made easily online through our website or by mailing a check to our office. Thank you for making a difference!
